Families
There are many free and low-cost activities in the area for the kids or the entire family. There are dozens of parks throughout the city plus all the playgrounds at the Pecos River Walk.

Kids and Teens
The Riverwalk Recreation Center (400 Riverwalk Dr) provides free family recreational facilities with no membership fees charged and no fees for usage of recreational equipment. The facility is three stories of Drug Free fun and exercise! They offer several basketball courts, indoor racquetball, volleyball, hockey rink, pool tables, big screen television and a lot more.

The Carlsbad Boys & Girls Club has membership for youth ages 6 to 18. They offer Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Coed K-1 Basketball, Coed Volleyball, 3 on 3 Indoor Soccer, Football and a whole lot more. FYI: The club is always looking for volunteers. Whether you want to coach a team, tutor, or run scoreboards for sporting events – they could probably use your help. If you would like to volunteer you may come in to the building at 1602 W. Fox and pick up a volunteer application at the front desk. Call the club at (575) 885-8449.

Skateboarders
The Riverwalk Recreation Center has a great place for a session. Beware the noggles!

Young Adults
In addition to all the outdoor recreation, there are many activities and groups for you. There are dances, fairs and events throughout the year. For more informal activities, there are clubs for movie lovers, writers, car and motorcycle enthusiasts, horse riding, hunting and target shooting, crafting and a lot more. (Secret: You can be young at heart for some groups.)

Night Life
The Walter Gerrells Performing Arts and Exhibition Centre is an extraordinary location for live entertainment and meeting events. From opera and country music performances to craft shows and boxing events, this is a great place for a unique event. Of course, there are several establishments to enjoy a cold beverage, listen to music, dance and kick back with friends and a chance to make some new ones.

Business Professionals
There are many business activities throughout Carlsbad and Eddy County. Check the online calendar for a list of upcoming business activities.

Volunteering
There are dozens of charitable, such as Carc, Inc, Noah's Ark Animal Shelterreligious organizations and other community groups that are always looking for someone to lend a helping hand.

Something for Everyone
The Carlsbad Public Library has many services, hosted clubs and events. Oh…they have reading materials and movies too.

Carlsbad Community Theatre (575) 887-3157 for thespians or people who like to work behind the scenes.

Caveman and Cavegirl Sports. Support the local high school’s athletic activities. It’s a great way for the single person to meet people and great entertainment for the entire family while giving support to the local high school teams.
