SUGAR LAND, Texas - September, 2014- Rangeland Energy (“Rangeland”) announced today that the company has signed a multiyear agreement with Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) to provide frac sand rail unloading, storage and distribution services in the Delaware Basin. Rangeland will serve Halliburton and its producer customers from Rangeland’s RIO Hub, now under construction near Loving, New Mexico.  The 300-acre facility is located in the heart of the Delaware Basin’s rapidly growing production area.  Operations are expected to begin in October. Planned Potash Mine has 50 Year Life Span

Carlsbad, NM, January 2014 -  A planned potash mine in southeastern New Mexico would be economically viable for the next 50 years, according to a new study by a consulting group.

Intercontinental Potash Corporation recently released the study just before the company's Ochoa potash project breaks ground and the company await a final approval from federal officials. Full Story.

Carlsbad Receives Early College High Funding

Las Cruces, NM - January 2014 - Gov. Susana Martinez announced four $100,000 grants Thursday to help start or expand early college high school programs in New Mexico.

Fourteen schools applied for the grant funding, which came from a Denver-based foundation. The chosen districts -- Gadsden, Carlsbad, Hobbs and Albuquerque -- are "exactly" where these programs need to be, Martinez said. Full Story.

Xcel Energy Doubles Down on Eddy County

Carlsbad, NM - January 2014 -  One of the state's power suppliers is bolstering its presence in Southeastern New Mexico.

Xcel Energy plans to hire more workers in the near future once construction is complete on the company's new 23,500 square-foot building that sits on about 4 to 4 ½ acres of land on the southwestern portion of Carlsbad, according to company officials.
