Our mission is to improve the lives of people in our community and South Eddy County

The Carlsbad Community Foundation is a charitable nonprofit organization that promotes and enhances the lives of people in Carlsbad and South Eddy County. The Foundation was established in 1978 and has been a primary supporter of education, arts and humanities health and human services and other key issues for four decades.

At the core of our organization are the generous donors, who over the years have directed their charitable giving toward endowment funds to address present and future needs.

Earnings from the Foundation’s endowment funds are used to award scholarships and grants. Meanwhile, the permanent portion of the funds continue to grow and generate money to ensure funding is available for years to come.

The Foundation receives gifts of all kinds. Many choose donations to the Foundation as a way to memorialize friends and loved ones who have passed away or to honor individuals for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations or other achievements. Some make donations of cash, stocks or other assets to funds that support issues that are important to them. Others designate the Foundation as a beneficiary in their will, trust or life insurance policy. The Foundation provides flexibility for donors who want to focus their charitable giving of any size in ways that benefit our community.

The Foundation is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible.
