Job Description:

The journeyman electrician in this position will report directly to Delta’s client for daily directives. The electrician will be a self-starter, which can safely perform tasks with minimal supervision. This position will be based on 5-10 work week with a rotational 7-day 24 hr. on-call period, once every 4 or 5 weeks. Minimum 50 hour work week. Safety is our top priority, and unsafe work practices will not be tolerated. This is not a rotational position; the journeyman will be required to live in the Carlsbad/Artesia/Hobbs NM area. Work will primarily be in the Delaware Basin in SE NM.

  1. Must have a current New Mexico state issued journeyman electrician license.
  2. Must be able to perform routine maintenance and execute small projects in active oil field facilities without supervision. This work will include but not be limited to, installing conduit, and pulling wire, installing cable tray and pulling cable, wiring single phase and three phase motors, installing and wiring control panels, and checking proper motor rotation. All work must be completed per the current National Electrical Code adopted by the state of New Mexico, Construction Industries Division.
  3. Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing damaged components in electrical control circuits.
  4. Ability to troubleshoot three-phase 480 volt power and determine whether voltage is correct per the application.
  5. Ability to check to check transformer banks and service disconnects to determine if any fuses are blown and replace them if needed.
  6. Ability to verify control voltages per each application.
  7. Remedy any “Single Phasing” issues on power supply.
