Longhorn Flats Extended Stay Opens in Loving, New Mexico

18 Dec 2020

For Immediate Release

Loving, NM, December, 2020 – The Permian Basin is now home to a brand new extended stay facility. Longhorn Flats is now open in Loving, New Mexico and is ideally situated closer to oilfield work as well as the amenities of Carlsbad. The new facility offers 72 rooms.

While recent events related to the COVID-19 pandemic have seen many businesses curtailed, and some closed, the oil and gas industry has remained steady. A drop in oil prices occurred earlier in 2020, but since then the industry has rebounded and many insiders feel is poised to make great gains going forward. With such anticipation comes the need for workforce in the Permian Basin area, and with a housing deficit in Eddy County, Longhorn Flats will aid in filling the need.

“Longhorn is a see-to-believe type facility,” said Steven McCutcheon, owner. “Being located in Loving, NM, helps keep anyone working in the Permian stay closer to work and out of traffic.”

Eddy County, in which Loving is located, was found to be the leading county in New Mexico in business growth, according to financial consulting firm SmartAsset. The study, provided to the Carlsbad Department of Development (CDOD) earlier this year, looked at the number of new businesses, GDP growth, and building permits in counties across the state. Eddy County topped New Mexico with a 7% business growth rate and an incoming investment index of 61.86. The report may be viewed here.

Longhorn Flats also has single rooms and apartments available. The facility offers many modern amenities for its guests. The facility offers an outdoor pavilion, fitness center, BBQ grills, indoor recreation and high speed fiber internet, along with state-of-the-art construction.

“Quality construction and design with amenities and a modern rustic feel brings people back and keeps executives and workers alike happy, comfortable, and safe,” McCutcheon added.

Strong industrial diversity has led to Eddy County leading the way in growth for the state. The market relies on more than just one industry, to include nuclear, potash, manufacturing, retail, oil and gas, aviation, construction, and tourism. Several of these have flourished lately, as the community has seen an influx of new businesses. Commercially, retail and restaurant businesses have added to the market mix as well.

Other projects in the trade area are still underway, and a few have even started construction despite the challenges faced with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Developers see the optimistic view going forward.
