Albuquerque, NM - Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is proud to announce the opening of its newest location at 1108 Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico. The 23,377 square-foot facility features a retail store, donation center, and services office including a training center, offering the GoodJobs Program, which provides free job placement assistance to anyone in need of opportunity.

The newly remodeled facility is set to open its doors to the public on Thursday, February 29, 2024, with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Goodwill, in conjunction with Carlsbad Radio will host a celebration for the community on Saturday, March 2 to include pizza and prizes. Shoppers can expect a broad selection of gently used clothing for the entire family as well as shoes, decor, and furniture.

“As a local non-profit, we are excited to be able to serve your community by providing a location where customers can find amazing deals and donate their unwanted items,” said Shauna Kastle, President, and CEO of Goodwill Industries of New Mexico. “However, what we are truly proud of is the ability to provide community members all over the state with access to our free services including career development and job placement. We continue to be grateful for the community’s support of our mission and programs.” The new location will employ 18 people – all hired from the Carlsbad area.

In addition to the thrift store, the donation center will also be open to provide a quick and easy way to donate gently used items. Goodwill Industries of New Mexico relies entirely on the communities’ generous donations, and the revenue generated by the sales of donated items, to fund its programs, which help thousands of New Mexicans each year.

“Goodwill is an A-Rated charity, and 88 cents of every dollar collected through donations of goods goes directly back into our programs and services,” shared Melissa Stock, CAO of Goodwill Industries of New Mexico. Goodwill remains dedicated to fulfilling its mission to provide skills training, job development, and social services to New Mexicans.
