Carlsbad commuters get $2.4M New Year's present from City

A new surface on a busy Carlsbad side street greeted commuters during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, according to the City of Carlsbad.
The $2.4 million repaving of Church Street from Carlsbad High School to the Carlsbad Beach started Dec. 21, said K.C. Cass, director of projects for the City of Carlsbad.
Frank Navarrette, Constructors, Inc. Church Street project manager, said work is complete from 12th Street to Pate Street and from Mesa Street to Halagueño Street.
